In 2019, the Outlander got some refreshed styling on the outside, including snazzy new headlights. Inside, it got a quieter cabin and a better ride quality. Updated climate control vents are now standard in the back seat, too. In 2020, the Outlander features a new 8-inch touchscreen display, redesigned USB ports in the back rows, and even a new trim called the SP.

There are two engines available for the 2020 and the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander. The base engine in the Outlander is a four-cylinder with a power output of 166 HP. This engine is connected to a continuously variable automatic transmission. The second engine, which is standard on the top trim called the GT, is a more powerful 3.0L six-cylinder engine with a power output of 224 HP and a torque output of 215 LB-FT. Front-wheel drive is the standard drivetrain for both model years of the Outlander, while all-wheel drive is available on most trims. The GT comes standard with all-wheel drive. The mechanical configuration is the same for both model years.

In 2019, the Mitsubishi Outlander got a fresh new look to set it apart from the crowd. This year, the Outlander received new headlights to match its bold, sporty appearance. LED headlights and LED taillights are standard on both the 2019 and 2020 model years of the Outlander. Heated side mirrors are also standard on the base level. Automatic headlights and high beams are standard on the second trim level in both model years. Roof rails are added to the LE, along with a custom dark exterior appearance. All-new in 2020, the SP gets additional exterior accents and a dazzling array of chrome accents.

Both the 2020 and the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander are packed with an assortment of features. The 2020 model gets a new standard eight-inch infotainment display screen and an updated USB charging ports in the back rows. Both model years feature a spacious cabin with plenty of room to spread out and relax. They also have ample cargo space. The base trims come with heated front seats, which sets them apart from most of their peers.

Additionally, the base models are equipped with dual-zone climate control. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are added at the second trim level, which also gets power-adjustable front seats and more advanced safety features, including lane departure warning and forward collision warning with automatic braking. A sunroof is added for the LE, while the all-new SP in 2020 gets a distinctive interior look to match its unique exterior. Leather seats are added to the SEL, and the GT comes with a heated steering wheel. Add-on features and packages are available for both model years.
